David King
President (2019 – 2020)
Prior to moving to Victoria in 2011, David spent most of his life in Alberta, where he was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (1971 – 1986) and a Cabinet Minister (1979 – 1986) in two portfolios (Education, and Technology, Research and Telecommunications). Following his political involvement, he was Executive Director of the Public School Boards’ Association of Alberta (1990 – 2010).
David’s first involvement with the U.N.A.C. was as a high school student, when he attended the Students’ United Nations International Affairs (SUNIA) program at the Banff School of Fine Arts and then the follow-up program at U.N. headquarters in New York.
David’s interests include community, democracy, education, and good stewardship. In addition to active involvement, he has spoken to international audiences and written extensively.

Sharon Kiptoo
Team Member
Sharon has spent most of her career in the healthcare field having worked in various sectors of the health care industry. Her interest in UNAC stems from engaging the community in deeper conversations with the community especially in the areas of Women’s Rights, Global Health and Human Rights. Working closely with UNAC Victoria Sharon hopes to bring awareness to the local community in a an effort to affect changes and work toward the 17 SDG goals.
